Calum and his crew did a fantastic job removing a diseased spruce off our property line, in fact so good a job that we brought them back in to remove the remaining trees later in the season. Our ederly neighbour also had a dead tree taken down by Fields and forests. They had the right equipment, an adequately sized crew, and the careful competency to do the job safely, quickly and at a reasonable cost. There were sheds on both sides that were untouched and once the trees were down, all debris was cleaned and removed. The crew was pleasant and professional. Thanks!”

Our Story
Founded in 2023 by Calum Hardie, Fields and Forests is built on over a decade of hands-on experience and specialized professional training. Calum’s career began in the Halifax area in 2012, followed by a year in Ontario where he earned his Certificate in Arboriculture from Sir Sandford Fleming College in 2016. After returning to the Maritimes, he continued his work in Nova Scotia until moving home to New Brunswick at the end of 2022 to establish a company rooted in high-level expertise and environmental stewardship.
As an ISA Certified Arborist (AT-0711A) with specialized qualifications in Tree Risk Assessment (TRAQ), Technical Rigging, and Electrical Awareness, Calum ensures every project meets the highest safety and technical standards.
We are proud to serve the communities of Southeastern New Brunswick and Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, bringing specialized care to the landscapes we know best. This commitment to excellence extends to the entire Fields and Forests team. We don’t just maintain landscapes; we protect them. We are proud to be a carbon-negative company, and we believe in giving back to the land that sustains us. That’s why we offset and store twice the carbon we produce by donating to Community Forests International’s Protect and Restore Fund, helping to preserve our local forests for future generations.
